2) Information We Collect

We collect only what’s needed to operate the service.

a) Account information

When you sign in with Google or Apple through our authentication provider, we receive your display name, email, and a unique user ID. We do not collect passwords.

b) Vehicle & profile details

You may add vehicle brand, model, color, and optionally license plate and a private note to help identify you during a meet-up.

c) Location data (limited use)

With your permission, we access your location only during handoff confirmation to verify that both parties are within ~200 meters of the agreed spot. We do not track your location in the background.

d) Payments & payouts

All card payments and cash-outs are processed by Stripe. We do not store card or bank details on our servers. Stripe retains transaction records for up to 90 days for compliance and dispute resolution.

e) In-app messages (chat)

Messages between matched users are stored in a real-time messaging/database service and deleted after the reservation completes.

f) Device & diagnostics

We use a crash and error monitoring service to collect diagnostic information (e.g., app version, device type, stack traces) to fix bugs and improve reliability.

g) Optional future analytics

We may enable an analytics service in future versions to understand feature usage (e.g., aggregated event counts, screen views). If enabled, you will be notified in-app.

3) How We Use Information

• Authenticate and manage user accounts
• Facilitate reservations, chat, and point transfers
• Process payments and payouts via Stripe
• Send transactional notifications (e.g., request accepted, transfer completed)
• Diagnose crashes and improve performance
• Comply with legal and dispute-resolution obligations

We do not sell or rent your personal information and do not share it with advertisers.

4) Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted service providers that act on our behalf and under contract, including:

• Cloud hosting & databases (to run servers and store data in the United States)
• Authentication provider (Google/Apple sign-in)
• Real-time messaging/database (temporary chat during a reservation)
• Crash & error monitoring (diagnostics to improve reliability)
• Payments & payouts — Stripe (card processing and transfers)

We share only the minimum necessary information for these providers to perform their services, and require appropriate confidentiality and security commitments.

5) Data Storage & Security

• Your data is processed and stored by our cloud hosting and database providers in secure US regions.
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access is restricted to authorized personnel with a need to know.
• Stripe manages payment information under its own security and compliance standards.

6) Data Retention & Deletion

• You can delete your account at any time in-app or by emailing contact@parkingswap.io.
• We retain account data until deletion. After deletion, we remove personal and chat data from our systems.
• Upon deletion, we remove personal and chat data from our systems.
• Stripe retains your transaction records for up to 90 days on Stripe’s servers for compliance and dispute handling; we do not store Stripe card/bank details.
• We may retain minimal logs as necessary for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

7) Children’s Privacy & Audience

ParkingSwap is intended for licensed drivers in the United States and is notdirected to children under 13. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

8) Notifications & Communications

We send transactional push notifications related to reservations and transfers. You can disable notifications in your device settings. We do not send marketing messages at this time.

9) Your Choices & Rights

• View or update your profile in the app
• Delete your account at any time
• Control location and notification permissions in your device settings
• Contact us for privacy questions or requests

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page with an updated “Effective Date” and will notify you in-app if changes are material.
